Tong Making ~ The Saga Continues

Well, I guess I might as well go through the step-by-step. Here is kinda the main shaping of the tongs:

“There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but then there are others who, with the help of their art and their intelligence,
transform a yellow spot into the sun.” ~ Pablo Picasso ~

Thanks for that Grant. How much prototyping/experimenting did you have to do to get at the die shapes?

Thanks for making these videos Grant. There are so many little nuggets of information in them. I really need to get some speakers for the new computer down at the shop, I won't be able to hear the audio till I get home tonight.

Wow, thanks. Some guys are afraid to show you how they make a leaf. These vids are so smart and generous. You have a bit of a "santa" vibe going anyway, might as well run with it.

I would buy the book if you write one.

The T-shirt says: "I'm not a Proctologist, but I do know an asshole when I see one"!

Reminds me of a shirt I bought for my brother once. 'My girl doesn't wrestle, but you should see her box'.

His girlfriend at the time didn't appreciate the witty nuances...

Well seeing it with sound is a lot better. I am curious why you stamp the lettering on it as a separate step rather than as part of offsetting the eye? Is the lettering stamp machined as part of the die or is it an insert?

Thanks Grant. It is obvious to me that your strength and driving force is finding solutions to problems that do not exist for most of us, our solution is normally the way we have always done it, and end up with something that looks the same it has always looked.
You were made to do this job. Are you still looking for solutions??

BTW. I like the shirt, tho' I have to guess what a proctologist is, reminds me of something I saw on another forum "No I am not a gynaecologist, but I'll have a look anyway"
