    Water Press?

There is a large machine shop in Medford going on the auction block. One of the items advertised says "water press- unlimited pressure". WHAT IS IT?

Looks to me like a wheel mounting press, eg a press for pushing wheels or gears onto a shaft or pushing them off a shaft. It is able to acomodate various lengths by moving the bottom platten. The next photo shows the pump that is used to drive the press. As for unlimited pressure, does that mean you can put 1mill ton on it and it won't break, I think not, everything has a design strength, once that is exceeded snappo.
That said there would have to be a relief valve in the setup somewhere otherwise that is what would happen if the pump was just left to pump and the press was left to press, something would break somewhere (if there was no relief valve).

Maybe it's an unlimited press (as in unlimited length) and somewhat thought "press" was short for "pressure"?
